types of research
MARKETING
While at university, I had the opportunity to learn about marketing research first hand, collaborating with two non-profits (Rock Creek Conservancy and InReach) carrying out primary and secondary marketing research. This took place through tactics such as studying analytics and conducting in-field research.
EDUCATION
As a community-based research scholar, I had the chance to explore the way research can implement community change, specifically in education. I took part in two projects emphasizing educational research. The first, focusing on inclusive sex education. The second, focusing on teaching students how community based research can be used to create change in schools.
COMMUNITY ORGANIZING
Through Voices4, I spent time learning about community organizing. During a project focusing on global queer rights in Hungary, I learned about the research that goes into activism and collective action. Through research on LGBTQ+ organizations in Hungary, we were able to connect queer lives in danger to resources in their area. While interning at InReach, I used research on services in the United States to affirm that they were safe resources for LGBTQ+ people and asylum seekers.
